My First PV installation, production in April

Early 2003 I installed my first string of grid connected solar panels.
Four 120 Wp panels, stringed together and generating about 4 amps DC at 90 - 110 V. Enough for about 400 Watts AC in the full sun. The theoretical 480 Watts are sometimes exceeded in early spring when the sky is very clear and temperatures are still low. Short bursts of 110% made my hart jump with joy.

And although I installed additional panels in the years to follow this first string is still my pride and joy. My 1.1 Kwh installation is great. It works like clockwork but it doesn't have the magic that the first system still has.

The little system is almost 5 years in use and is quietly providing about 350 - 400 Kwh of electricity per year. And it's still a magical thing, to see it performing so well.
The panels are facing South at an 30 degree angle to the Horizon. We had a cloudy April so my production for that month was a disappointing 49.6
Kwh at 394 hours of operation.

May looks promising, an average of 2.7 Kwh during the first 13 days and an average operation time of 14.5 hours per day. Free energy, no CO2 footprint and completely silent.
